Introduction
Think of this as a guide to help the client (you) and the supplier (me).  Comparisons can be made with a tour guide, it will have a planned route with interesting things noted on the plan to see along the way with some salient facts.  Most route guides are written some time ago, as you follow it you will see something not mention and you learn new topics, also you will go off and explore other paths not knowing what it may lead to, if anything.

The ‘Design Brief’ is to be treated in the same way.  It is not a rigid pre defined path boarded by barbed wire on both sides.  It is a general outline, an expected ideal, a means to an end.  The brief is more an account of your own business. Writing the brief may enlighten you more about it than you first imagined

The current order of the Directory on the next page has been arranged as far as possible in a logical order.  It is not intended to be complete, this is not an oversight, it allows room for change and addition or simplification.  Even the order of paragraphs and subheadings can be rearranged to suit your particular preferences.  If you want to rewrite the whole thing that is OK.  Choose the elements that you want in your Design Brief.  Tailor it to accomplish your working method and the sort of website you hope to achieve

To help you navigate your way through the Directory every line has a link to further information on other pages, so there is no need to read trough from start to finish.  The whole of this mini site is available as a PFD download suitable to be printed onto A4 paper.  A copy of Adobe Reader is necessary, if you have not got it already get it free here

If you intend to copy/paste text from the Directory the links should stay in place and you will be taken back to the individual section or a paragraph heading.  This could be a useful method to build your particular Design Brief
----------------------------------------------------
The PDP is a little more formal compared to the Design Brief, which could be used by any Website Designer, although I would prefer they wrote their own design brief.  My DPD is geared to the way I work with flexibility to fit in with the client

A Website 4u is interested in your feedback and is ready to answer your questions and listen to any useful information you think suitable for inclusion in this Design Brief
